My name is Sarah Bolmarcich, and I help people fall in love with the ancient world.

I'm a classics professor — that means I teach ancient Greek and Roman history, literature, and culture — with over two decades of experience teaching at universities across the United States, from Loyola College in Maryland to the University of Michigan, UT Austin, the University of Minnesota, Trinity University, and Arizona State. I also spent two years living and researching in Greece on a Fulbright fellowship.

But I'm not just a college professor. I give public lectures that make classical antiquity vivid and relevant for general audiences, no Ph.D. required. I consult on designing courses in the humanities that attract strong enrollments. And I write: my short fiction has appeared in several publications.

I grew up on the Philadelphia Main Line, got my start in classics at Smith College, and did my graduate work at the University of Virginia. The ancient world has been my home for a long time. I'm always happy to invite others in.
